Wisdom is not taught in school

Never Stop Being A Student Of Life

Wisdom Quote

We spend anywhere from 13 to 25 years in classrooms preparing for a career and our adult life. We learn academics, social expectations and how to function in the world around us.

WHERE DO WE LEARN TO:

Understand Emotions

Find Hope in Loss

Process Trauma

Navigate Life

It was my research, originally intended to define wisdom, that led me to discover eight elements that can serve as a roadmap for navigating and excelling in life.

Resilience gives us the ability to adapt to setbacks, learn from difficult experiences, and keep moving forward rather than becoming defined by what happened.

Kindness strengthens relationships with others and ourselves. Practicing kindness can create greater connection, reduce judgment, and help us respond with more compassion.

Positivity helps us look for possibility when circumstances are hard. Developing a positive outlook doesn’t mean ignoring problems; it means training ourselves to see what is still possible and finding reasons for hope.

Spirituality can help us explore what gives our life meaning. It can provide perspective, grounding, and a deeper sense of purpose during both good times and difficult ones.

Humility keeps us open to learning and changing. It is the ability to acknowledge our mistakes, to consider other perspectives and learn from them.

Tolerance allows us to live more peacefully with differences. By becoming more comfortable with perspectives and beliefs that differ from our own, we can reduce conflict, strengthen relationships, and broaden our understanding of the world.

Creativity helps us see beyond the obvious and imagine new possibilities. It opens up the possibilities of approaching problems differently and switching gears when our original plans don’t work.

Curiosity is what motivates us to continue to learn. By asking questions, exploring new ideas, and remaining open to expanding our perspective, we can deepen our understanding of ourselves and continue growing at every life stage.

These elements are not a formula for a perfect life. They are however a recipe for navigating life. They are the secret sauce to mastering life.

I invite you to think about something you’re struggling with today. Which of these eight elements could help you see it differently, move through it, or grow from it?

Sometimes, one small shift can change everything.
