How do we build resilience?

We talked about how resilience was the main element that we saw in the interviewees. Yet how do we build resilience? The interviewees were asked about how they deal with difficulties, and all had similar responses. They felt that there were four key steps in building resilience:

  1. Acceptance
  2. Gratitude
  3. Tackle it head on
  4. Release worry

In spiritual terms, letting go of concern for the outcome is to “surrender.” It’s an unusual term in that in practical terms it means to “give up,” but in spiritual terms, it means the opposite. It means to accept the reality of things, do what you can to the best of your ability, and then step aside to let the universe take over.
